Soft like an oval, striking like a marquise - this 4.01-carat moval diamond was always going to be the centre of attention.
The vision for this piece was to create a ring that felt timeless and elegant, but still had something unexpected about it. Every detail was intentionally kept refined, allowing the distinctive silhouette of the moval diamond to truly shine.
The Design
A moval combines the soft curves of an oval with the elongated, gently pointed shape of a marquise. It has the beautiful finger coverage and flattering length of both cuts, while feeling a little less expected than a traditional oval.
We set this 4.01-carat diamond in a 14k yellow gold cathedral setting. The shoulders rise narrowly towards the centre stone, giving the larger diamond additional support while creating a beautifully balanced side profile.
A delicate hidden halo sits beneath the diamond, adding a subtle touch of sparkle that reveals itself from the side without taking attention away from the centre stone.
The 1.7mm flat band keeps the overall design clean and refined, while baby talon prongs securely hold the diamond and complement its softly pointed shape.

With a centre stone of this size, structure was just as important as beauty. The cathedral shoulders provide additional support to the setting while flowing seamlessly into the band.
The hidden halo not only adds sparkle beneath the diamond but a rail to hold the prongs stable, and the baby talon prongs keep the stone secure without visually overpowering its shape. Every element works together to make the ring feel delicate while remaining thoughtfully constructed for everyday wear.
